Getting started
How does LocalFlips.com work?
When a listing near you on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp or Craigslist meets both of your floors (at least $50 projected profit after selling fees and 50% projected all-in ROI by default), we send it to your inbox with the numbers: the asking price, a suggested offer, what it sells for, fees, and your projected profit. You message the seller and buy it yourself.
How do I set up or change my search?
Open Search settings in the sidebar. Choose a city or ZIP code and how far you’ll drive. Changes apply to the finds we send from then on.
Where do finds come from?
Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp and Craigslist, all three. Every find links to the original listing.
Where do the profit numbers come from?
From real recent sales of the same item, minus 15% for fees, minus shipping and packing, minus the suggested offer. Projected all-in ROI is that projected profit divided by the suggested purchase price, selling fees, and shipping and packing combined. Open a find and choose Sold prices to see those sales yourself. These are estimates, not a guarantee of what an item will sell for. How we estimate profit walks through the full method.
What’s the least a find can be worth?
Every find must show both $50 projected profit after selling fees and 50% projected all-in ROI by default. If it misses either floor, we don’t send it. If a listing changes after we send it and no longer clears those bars, report it, and if we confirm it the fee is refunded.
Can I change the minimum profit?
Yes. In Search settings you can set it anywhere from $25 to $150, and the minimum ROI moves the other way, from 55% down to 30%.
About LocalFlips.com
Is LocalFlips.com legit?
Yes. LocalFlips.com is a US web service for people who flip items they buy locally. Your first profitable find is free with no card. After that you pay only for finds delivered, never more than the monthly limit you set, and a find with a confirmed problem gets its fee back. You can reach a person at support@localflips.com. Read the full facts.
Is there a monthly subscription?
There’s no flat monthly fee. You pay per find: $1 for every $20 of projected profit delivered, never more than the monthly limit you set. A month with no finds costs nothing, and your first profitable find is free.
Does LocalFlips.com use my Facebook, OfferUp or Craigslist account?
No. It never touches your account. You deal with the seller directly on the marketplace, the same way you would with any listing.
Is LocalFlips.com a Facebook Marketplace deal finder?
Yes, and it covers OfferUp and Craigslist too. Instead of sending you every new listing that matches a keyword, LocalFlips.com sends only the underpriced ones inside your radius that are projected to clear $50 profit after selling fees and 50% all-in ROI by default, with the math attached. More about the deal finder.
How is this different from keyword alerts?
Keyword alerts tell you about every new listing that matches your words, and you work out whether each one is worth buying. LocalFlips.com sends a find only after its resale math clears both floors, so there are no keyword lists to set up and no matches to sort through.
What kinds of items do you send?
Items you can resell and ship as a regular parcel, such as game consoles, electronics, tools, musical instruments, kitchen gear and designer bags. We don’t send furniture, large appliances or other freight-sized items, or things that sell for too little to be worth flipping.
Where does LocalFlips.com work?
Anywhere in the United States. You choose a city or ZIP code and how far you’ll drive, and every find comes from inside that radius.
Do I need to download an app?
No. LocalFlips.com is a web app. It works in the browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to install.
Is LocalFlips.com for house flipping?
No. LocalFlips.com finds underpriced everyday items for people who resell them. It isn’t a house-flipping or real-estate service, a dating site or a make-money course.
Is LocalFlips.com part of Facebook, OfferUp or Craigslist?
No. LocalFlips.com is independent and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc., OfferUp Inc. or craigslist, Inc. Each find links to the original listing, and you deal with the seller there.
Finds
What does a find show me?
The marketplace, the listing’s title, the projected profit, the asking price, how far away it is, and when we found it. Open it for the full math, item by item when a listing has several, and a link to the listing itself.
Do I buy through LocalFlips.com?
No. View on Facebook, OfferUp or Craigslist opens the original listing. You message the seller, agree a price and buy it the way you normally would. We’re never between you and the seller.
How do I hear about a new find right away?
Add a mobile number under Account → Notifications, and we’ll text you the moment a find arrives. The bell in the top bar lists new finds and anything that changes about them.
The listing was gone when I got there. What happens?
Good listings sell fast, so it helps to turn on text alerts. When a listing comes down, we move the find to your Archive and mark it No longer available. See the next answer for when a fee is refunded.
When is a find’s fee refunded?
A fee is refunded when you report a problem and we confirm it. A listing that simply sells to someone else, or comes down, isn’t refunded.
A refund shows on your bill as its own line under the charge it answers, and you’ll get a notification when it happens.
How do I report a problem with a find?
Open the find and choose Report. Pick what’s wrong: a scam or suspicious seller, a changed price, a profit estimate that looks off, or details that don’t match. We review it and tell you the result in your notifications. If we confirm the problem, the fee is refunded.
Billing
How does pricing work?
You pay $1 for every $20 of projected profit we deliver. A find with $235 of projected profit costs $11.75. You choose a monthly limit, from $10 up, and you’re never billed more than that. A month with no finds costs nothing.
How does the free find work?
Your first find is free and needs no card. To get it, verify a mobile number when you set up your search; each number gets one free find. After it arrives, new finds wait until you turn on paid finds, which means choosing a monthly limit and adding a card. Nothing turns on by itself.
When am I charged?
Once a month, on the day your month renews, which is the same date each month as the day you turned on paid finds. We bill your card for the finds delivered in the month that just ended, and email you the receipt. Billing shows this month’s charges as they add up, and every past month.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
New finds stop until your month renews, or until you raise your limit. A find is always delivered whole, so the last one of a month can go past your limit. The part past it isn’t charged unless you raise your limit that month.
How do I change my limit or my card?
Both are on Billing: Edit monthly limit and Update next to your payment method. Your limit can’t go below what you’ve already used this month.
How do I pause or cancel?
Pause search in the top bar stops new finds. To cancel, open Billing and choose Cancel plan: new paid finds stop right away, and finds already delivered are still billed.
Your account
How do I change my name, email or password?
On Account. A new email is confirmed with a code before it replaces the old one. Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page.
What do you do with my data?
We use your location to run your search, and your contact details to reach you. The privacy page and terms have the details.
How do I delete my account?
At the bottom of Account, choose Delete account. Your search stops right away, and your data is deleted within 30 days, except some billing and security records. Charges for finds already delivered still apply.
